Bayonet Week, Day Eight!

By popular demand1, I'm extending Bayonet Week a little longer!

This is a British Christmas card that fills my May with the holiday spirit...

Merry Christmas, Francis J. Field!
...just as it fills Hitler with a good foot of Sheffield steel.

Thanks to Mark for the submission!

  1. By "popular demand," of course means "I have more than seven of these."

Addie and Hermy - GETTING PUNCHED!

Everything may have been bleak for the British by 1940, but they could still laugh at their would-be conquerors. And thus, in the pages of The Dandy, "Addie and Hermy" were born.

In it, Adolf Hitler and Hermann Göring were a pair of scruffy ne'er-do-wells that "usually embroiled in a scam that went wrong" (per the BBC).

It's like if the Katzenjammer Kids were war criminals!Click above for larger image.

And the outcome was always the same:

Oh, Addie! Will you ever win?Unfortunately, this is as large as I could find.

Addie and Hermy were the creation of Sam Fair. Thanks to Purple Hayes for cluing us in to this despicable duo.

Hitler Abuse From Across the Pond

Sure, the majority of Hitler Punchery that occurs on this site comes from the U.S. But, though I'm proud of the American tradition of Fuhrer abuse, the Allied cause was spread over numerous nations. And few had as much of a reason to spank the crap out of Hitler than the English. And spank they did:

Defending Beans and Toast for all future generations
And, as far as I can tell, this is the song they sang while spanking:

A certain German chancellor has lost his head,
He's going to get a headache somewhere else instead,
And he will be retiring very soon,
To join a certain Kaiser down in Doom,

Adolf, you've bitten off, much more than you can chew.
Come on, hold your hand out,
We're all fed up with you, Gor Blimey,
Adolf, you toddle off, and all your Nazis too,
Or you may get something to remind you
Of the old red, white and blue.

Cheers, lads.

Lyrics to "Adolf," are by Annette Mills, who was apparently the aunt of both Haley Mills and Haley Mills. I'm guessing the artwork is by a "Lawrence Wright," but I don't have any information about him. Thanks to Olaf for submitting this fine example of Hitler abuse.

Part-Time War Workers Punched Hitler Too!

Or, slapped him I guess:

I haven't been able to source this one, beyond it being a legitimate propaganda poster from the war years. My guess is it originates from the United Kingdom, although the origin isn't verified. We'll still give a point to the limeys on this one.

Hat tip to Olaf
